Storyboard Text

  • Row Row Row your boat... OH Hi, We are going to tour History.
  • I thought you were committed to your troops, SON!
  • FATHER!
  • "Kids!"
  • Boring!
  • The Articles of Confederation was the 1st constitution  of the U.S  it said that the government's power to rule should come from the states.
  • "Men."
  • Another one of my great ideas.
  • Heah, Your ideas they were my ideas! Anyways your ideas stink.
  • Two plans that did not work out too good were the Virginia Plan which favored states with a larger population (they had represenatives in House and Congress), and the New Jersey Plan which favored states with a smaller population (would get and equal vote in Congress).
  • They should ratify the Constitution because 1. They need a strong government that can unite quarreling states. 2. The Articles of of Confederation had a weak central government and the nation was falling apart. 3. The powers limited and divided among 3 branches of power.
  • We should abolish slavery and all men can be eqaul.
  • No we need slaves, we can't do stuff ourselfs I don't have the time.
  • The Great Compromise was reached, each state would have 2 senators, to be elected by their state legislatures. The vote was very close but the plan was approved.
  • The 3/5 Compromise was a compromise that decided every 5 slaves would be the equivelent to 3 free people.
  • Northerners wanted to outlaw Slave Trade (the importing of slaves from Africa), but Southerners did not want this. The compromises only postponed the day that Americans would have to resolve the terrible contradiction betwwen slavery and the ideals of liberty and equality.
