The tell tale heart is about a man that thinks hes not crazy and wants others to believe he had a justified reason in killing a man. He killed him because of his eye that was haunting him. He also had the nerve to claim that he could hear hearts beating. He said that his hearing was so sharp because of a disease that he could hear beating hearts. But it seemed that the mans heart was the only one he could hear and that was haunting him. His madness cased him to tell on his self.

i should kill him and finally rid myself of the eye
i will return tomorrow midnight
The story of a mad man's kill
I will put the heavy bed on top of him, That will surely kill him
"I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye forever". He harkened to his heart and he will end up paying for it.
I will cut him up and stick him under the boards
"And every night, about midnight I turned the latch of his door and opened it--- Oh so gently!". He didn't want to be fancied as mad but he went to stalk a man with the intention of killing him.
I did it i, i killed him! He's under the boards there! there!!
"In an instant i pulled him to the ground and pulled the heavy bed over him''. This showed that his every move was in move of killing him. And afterward he gaily smiled showing his craziness.
"I then took up three planks up from the flooring of the chamber, and deposited all between the scantlings... They're was nothing to wash out, no stain of any kind". Because of his so called wariness he thought he was justified to kill the man.
"Was it possible they suspected? Almighty god! no, no! They heard! They knew They were making a mockery of my horror!" He assumed they were mocking him because he is crazy and things he can hear beating heart. So he told on himself because he believed he was hearing a beating heart.
