  • Can you help me prepare for my big presentation tomorrow?
  • Of course!
  • Ok, so I know that evolution is the Process by which organisms change overtime but I'm a little confused on the Lamarck and Darwin evolution theories
  • That's ok, Darwin's theory of evolution involves "survival of the fittest" where the the organisms with the best traits fit to survive will go on to reproduce while the organisms that don't have the good traits will die. Now Lamarck believed that in order to survive organisms would acquire the traits needed to survive during their lifetime
  • I don't get the evidences of evolution either
  • Ok. there are 5 evidences of evolution Fossil Record Evidence, Comparative Morphology Evidence, Biogeographical Evidence, Biochemical/Genetic Evidence, and Modern Examples of Evolution. Fossil record evidence shows us how organisms have changed overtime by looking at the bones now vs he bones then. Comparative Morphology Evidence is Analogous Structures vs. Homologous Structures. scientists do this to find relationship between different species. Biogeographical Evidence provides information about how and when species may have evolved. Biochemical/Genetic Evidence used to determine relationships is to study the biochemical. similarity of organisms. Modern Examples of Evolution include things like roaches building a resistance to pesticide
  • Now I think I know about Sexual and Asexual reproduction. A sexual reproduction is good because the organisms don't have to find someone to mate with but asexual reduction lacks genetic diversity. Sexual reproduction takes way longer than asexual reproduction but it has genetic diversity so if the species needed to evolve it could unlike asexual reproduction.
  • Yes, that's exactly right
  • Thank you so much I feel much more prepared for my presentation now
  • Wait hold on I need a summary from you to see if you actually know the information
  • Ok, evolution is the process by which organism change overtime and there were two theories of evolution but Darwin's is what we actually go by and there are five evidences of evolution that we use to prove that evolution is real. There is Fossil Record Evidence, Comparative Morphology Evidence, Biogeographical Evidence, Biochemical/Genetic Evidence, and Modern Examples of Evolution. Asexual reproduction is not good for evolution while sexual reproduction is good for evolution
  • You got this!
