Clerval gave Victor a letter from Elizabeth. In the letter, Elizabeth says that she knows Victor is very sick. She says she needs to know if Victor is ok because her uncle is wanting to go to Ingolstadt.
Elizabeth recommends Victor get well and return home. She says he will find a happy, cheerful home and friends who love you. She says that Victors fathers health is vigorous and he asks to see Victor.
She brags about how the children have grown and how the blue lake and snowclad mountains havent changed. She also reminds Victor of Justine and how she can make Victor happy anytime.
