I became a voyageur to earn my family some money. I am leaving behind my family in Lachine.
I am a bit homesick from staying away from home on my traveling from being a voyageur. I get along with my Brigade except for maybe Beloit. My blisters are oozing and bleeding after paddling for so long.
My Brigade ended up running the rapids. The canoe got stuck on a boulder while the other one was close to crushing it. La Londe jumped on a slippery boulder to help the canoe come free. It came free but then La Londe fell into the wild waters.
After Lake Huron we went to cross Lake Superior. Crossing Lake superior was way harder than Lake Huron because there was very strong winds. They had to settle on an island for a few days because the winds were too ferocious.
When I saw Grand Portage I couldn't believe how simple it was. But when I saw it I was relieved that I was half way done with my trip.
I returned to Lachine with my Brigade. We are returning because we finished our portage. I think I should sign on again next spring because it was fun to be a voyageur. He has people there who want him to sign on again.
