Jing-mei´s mother demands she becomes a child prodigy even though that´s not what Jing-mei wants. Jing-mei thought it would be fun and exciting to be a child prodigy but later realized it was not fun nor exciting! Her mother was determent so she signed her up for piano with her neighbor mr.chong.
Jing-mei´s mother traded Mr.chong cleaning services for piano lessons. Jing-mei hated piano lessons, she wasn't very good . But one day she found out how to cheat the system, she found out Mr.chong was deaf. She could play any key wrong or right he would still say it was great. She still entered the talent show.
Jing-mei did awful aat the talent show. Everyone was there and saw her fail, her mother was so disappointed but did not speak or yell at her. Jing-mei was a disappointment at everything she did after that.
Jing-mei expected her mom to yell or be mad but her mom did neither, Jing mei expected to be done wityh piano lesson but her mom just reminded her that she had piano lessons later that day.
After Jing-mei expressed how she felt about her life when she was young years later she realized it was years later when she felt she had fallied her mom when she felt like she had let her life go .when she was grown up her parents gifted her the piano her parents got her when she was a kid ,she saw the gift as forgiveness and sign of moving on but months later her mom died Jing-mei an adult has sent a tuner over and she played a little and felt how aaayamazing the paiono is
