We need you, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, to explore the land West of the Mississippi River.
And so, the Corps of Discovery went on an expedition to map out the land and discover whatever might be past the Mississippi River.
Along the way, they met a Frenchman and his Native American wife, Toussaint Charbonneau and Sacagawea, who agreed to serve as translators on the Corps's expedition.
They approached the Rocky Mountains, but they wouldn't turn back. They had come this far, and weren't going to stop until they hit ocean.
They had almost made it.
And here they were, finally at the Pacific Ocean.
