Hey! I'm Ana the Amazing Rock! Currently I'm a metamorphic rock.
A metamorphic rock forms from heat and pressure. We form underground because it is very hot and we need heat to melt a bit. Pressure from underground helps flatten me out. Over time, the heat and pressure cause me to have lots of layers. When I am finished forming...Geologist dig me to the surface!
Now that I'm at the surface, the lava from this volcano will begin to melt me
After I've melted enough, the cool air will begin to cool me. Now that I am completely cooled... I officially become a Igneous Rock!
Oh No! The windy rain is really heavy! It is causing me to break down into sediment. Sediment is rock material that forms where rocks are broken down into smaller pieces
At last I am a sedimentary rock! Since the rain has stopped, all the tiny pieces of sediment get pushed back together and all the water within them get pushed out. This process is called compaction. Now you have seen each stage of the rock cycle!
