  • This is the exposition because it introduces the townspeople and the situation that they are in.
  • Climax
  • This is the conflict because now that all of the head of households have drawn, they now have to decide how won and what to do with them.
  • Falling Action
  • This is the rising action because Bill has been chosen as the winner of the lottery and is leading up to the execution part of the lottery.
  • Resolution
  • This is the climax because Tessie now has the winning lottery ticket and knows what comes next.
  • No it's not fair!
  • This is the falling action part of the story because now that everyone knows that Tessie won, they have to deal with her by using rocks.
  • This is the resolution because the townspeople are now finished with Tessie and continue with their day and lives.
