Hello class! Today I have some fun information for you to think about! Did you know the national bird is the Bald Eagle? What do you know about national symbols? Talk amongst your friends about what you know about national symbols.
U.S. National Bird
Really? That's cool! I think that must mean we're strong!
The Texas State bird is the Mockingbird!
This week, you are going to research a country of your choice and learn about the national symbols of those countries!
I want to do Australia!
I want to do Thailand!
I want to do China!
When I researched my country, I found a cool symbol related to Australia! It had a kangaroo and an emu!
How about you discuss what symbols you know about in the community? Isn't there a symbol for our school?
Oh yeah! It's a mustang!
And I've seen all sorts of symbols since we talked about it! Like the cow at Chick-fil-a!
Hmm... What animal would I choose?
For the end of this subject, I'd like you to each make up a country and describe its national symbol and why you chose that symbol to represent that country.
In my country I'd use a peacock because they are majestic, just like my country would be.
I'd like a lion, because it protects its pride and is tough.
