ok I will obey you and choose a new king.
The Judge (Samuel) was asked by the Israelites to choose a king but were warned that kings like to tax and enslave them. So Judge Samuel chose Saul to be the first king. By doing this, he poured holy oil on Saul to that he was blessed by God.
King Saul later then, lost support from the people. Saul, ,according to the Hebrew Bible, disobeyed some of God's commands. Samuel was instructed by god to choose a new king to replace Saul so he chose a young sherperd named David.
When King David was still young, he heard that Goliath, a giant philistine warrior, dared anyone to fight him one-on-one. He stepped forward armed with a slingshot, his sherped's staff, and five smooth stones. Goliath then rushed towards David with a heavy spear in on hand, david hurled one stone straight at his forhead. Goliath then dropped dead.
Saul had been impressed by David's accomplishments, so he instructed his army under David's orders. Saul had gained jelousy towards him because of all his victory's. He then tried to kill David, but he escaped. David then returned and became king.
Once David had defeated the Philistines, he built a capital city for Israel at Jersulam. David was a great musician and poet. He is also believed to have written many of the sacred songs found in the Hebrew Bible of Psalms.
After King David died, his son Solomon took over and became the next king. He had built a great temple also called the first temple. The temple held the ark of the covenant and other sacred objects. Solomon is believed to have written the proverbs.
