Storyboard Text

  • The Tell Tale Heart  Sonali Solanki  Mr. Haws  CP English 5  25 October 2018 
  • In this house lives a old man who has a weird looking eye. The narrator lives in the same building.  
  • "Your eye is deformed, looking like a vultures's eye with a film covering it."
  • After 8 days, the narrator plots by killing the old man to get rid of the "eye." Each night the narrator enters the old man's room with a lantern until he see the eye.
  • Finally, one night, the old man wakes up and screams. Then the narrator pulls the man of the bed and puts the pillow over his face until he can no longer hear the old man's heart beating. 
  • Called by a neighbor, the police arrived, citing that someone reported a scream. The narrator tries to cover up by saying it was him that screamed, and that the old man went out of town. 
  • The story ends when the narrator believes he hears a ticking noise that grows louder and louder. He believes that it is the sound of the old man's heart and confesses to the police. 
  • "Villains! Dissemble no more! I admit the deed! --tear up the planks! here, here! --It is the beating of his hideous heart!"
