Texans refused give up a cannon that was gifted to the town. 100 Mexicans were sent to retrieve the cannon, but not to get into conflict. On the morning of October 2nd they attacked and outnumbered Mexicans. This was only a brief skirmish.

Texans were creating their own government at the Washington-On-Brazos. George Childress wrote the Texas declaration of independence in less than 24 hours. He based it off of the United States Declaration of Independence. They declared their independence from Mexico.
Runaway Scrape
The Mexicans for surronded the Alamo before attacking early in the morning at 5:30. All Texans defending the Alamo died. This happened right after William B. Travis wrote his famous Victory or Death speech.

Mexicans took everyone at Gonzales prisoner. Santa Anna was furious when he found out Texans were not exucuted on the spot. So on Palm Sunday they were marched into a open field and almost all were exucuted by a firing squad. A girl told a few men to come with her to live.

Texans were worried that if they didn't leave their home Santa Anna would take them prisoner. So they all decided to run to the United States and left all slaves.

On April 21, 1836 Texans were eager to gain revenge for the Alamo and Goliad. . Houston then sent Deaf Smith and a few other men to go burn Vince's Bridge where the Mexicans had crossed. Houston decided to attack at 4:30 PM when Mexicans where tired and caught them offgaurd. Santa Anna disappeared and was found wearing peasant clothes when his own men gave his identity away.
