In 793, the vikings from Scandinavia were looking for good farmland so they attacked and took over a small part of England. They raided for sixty years until the people from England started to pay the vikings just so they wouldn't be attacked.
From England, the Vikings moved west to Iceland and settled there. Later, Erik the red was banned from Iceland for three years. He travelled more to the west to Greenland and became Greenland's leader. While looking for his family in Greenland, Bjarni stumbled across another land before fining his family.
Erik's son, Leif Eriksson went out to try to find the land Bjarni had found before. Leif had sailed to Helluland, Markland, and Vinland, most likely Newfoundland, Canada. When Leif came back to Greenland, he found out his father had died and he needed to take care of the farm. So, Leifs brother, Thorvald, went out to find new land.
In Vinland, Thorvald found Inuits and he decided to attack them. During the battle, Thorvald got shot by an arrow and his crew buried him by their camp and left to go back to greenland.
In 1020, Thorfinn Karlsenfi sailed to Vinland and traded with the Inuits. When he wouldn't trade his weapons to the Inuits, they attacked him and forced the Vikings to leave.
