In 1786, a series of events began that would slowly form government and send delegates from all over. Many people doubted that it would work but after what happened to Shays Rebellion they quickly changed their minds.
As the 55 delegates go to the Philadelphia meeting about the Constitutional Convention most of those people became either lawyers, planters, merchants, or doctors. Delegates then being called Founders.
Many people thought that the government should protect them, but many thought that the government was also a big threat to the society. Later on many people thought that the government should maintain order. 29 delegates arrived at the meeting in Philly.
