Beowulf swims to Grendel's mother's underwater lair to revenge the death of Aeschere and to bring back the glory. "Beowulf got ready donned his war-gear... would soon meet with the menace underwater" (1442-1445).
Beowulf decapitates Grendel's mother with a sword made for a giant. "The sword dripped blood, the swordsman was elated" (1569).
Hygelac rewards Beowulf upon his return to Geatland. "Then rewarded him with land as well, seven thousands hides, and a hall and a throne" (2195-2196).
