  • Feng Ru prepared to take off at twilight on the hills of Oakland, California. 
  • Scene 4
  • Feng Ru took off, and for 20 minutes he circled around the hills of Oakland, only 12 feet above ground or less.
  • Scene 5
  • Then, all of a sudden, a bolt from the propeller burst out and Feng Ru crashed to the ground!
  • Scene 6
  • Feng Ru Middle School
  • Feng Ru tumbled to the ground, bruised but not harmed in any other way.
  • Feng Ru continued to experiment with flight, and on August 26, 1911 he crashed on an expedition.
  • Feng Ru had the same amount of fame in China as the Wright Brothers in America. Now, middle schools and high schools are named after him, and his childhood home is a museum.
