Storyboard Text

  • Aww..it's raining outside. What are we going to do now?
  • The Water Cycle
  • It's okay. How about we learn about the water cycle?
  • Rain or water falling from the sky is called precipitation. Any form of water falling from the shy is precipitation.
  • Where does it go?
  • The water that doesn't get absorbed in the soil is called runoff. Runoff often runs into rivers or lakes.
  • What about the absorbed water?
  • The water that is absorbed is called percolation. The water in plants goes through a process called transpiration. Transpiration is when the plant releases water vapor into the atmosphere.
  • Where does that vapor go?
  • The sun heats up water and it turns into water vapor. This is called evaporation. The water vapor rises higher into the atmosphere.
  • Cool. Now what's the last step?
  • The water vapor cools down and condenses into clouds. This is called condensation. Then, the cycle repeats itself.
  • Great! Now I know about the water cycle! But..what spheres are these in?
