  • Hello and welcome to our play today we will be performing The Golden Age of Greece  Philosophy
  • How did Socrates and Plato shape (or change) Greek thought? “A legendary figure even in his own time, he was admired by his followers for his integrity, his self-mastery, his profound philosophical insight, and his great argumentative skill. He was the first Greek philosopher to seriously explore questions of ethics.
  • “Plato’s most famous work is the Republic, which details a wise society run by a philosopher. He is also famous for his dialogues(early, middle, and late), which showcase his metaphysical theory of forms—something else he is well known for. Plato also founded the Academy”.
  • Socrates - ‘’his profound philosophical insight, and his great argumentative skill. He was the first Greek philosopher to seriously explore questions of ethics.’’
  • Plato - ‘’He dedicated his life to learning and teaching and is hailed as one of the founders of Western philosophy. Plato wrote many philosophical texts—at least 25. Plato’s most famous work is the Republic, which details a wise society run by a philosopher.’’
