I will build such a treasure house for you as the world has never seen!
Once, Ramses III hired a master builder, Hormheb, to build him a treasure house.
Build me a mighty treasure house of the hewn stone of Syene.
He built day and night and made sure that no one could get in, except for himself. You see, he made a secret entrance just for himself, so he could steal the treasures.
My plan is perfect!
Unfortunately, he fell into a great sickness and died. Hormheb told his sons about the secret entrance to the treasure room. Soon later, they started going to the treasure room.
Ramses started noticing someone was breaking into his treasure house. So he set up a trap. It worked, as one of the sons got trapped in one of them. That guy told his brother to chop his head off before the pharaoh finds him. So the brother (in blue) chops off his fellow sibling's (in pink) head.
Kill me! Before they discover me!
The pharaoh soon discovered the body of the first brother. The pharaoh tried to make the treasure thief show up by showing his brother up on the outer wall of the palace, but he got the body back later. Ramses also tried tricking him by dressing one of his daughters as a royal princess. She would try to tell the thief about what the worst thing he has done. The thief knew what was going on, so he told her what he has ever done, and then she tried yelling to the royal attendants that he was the one Ramses was looking for, but he ran off into the forest.
He's the one!
Ramses III finally gives up and said that the thief was too wise to punish. The pharaoh exclaimed that the man was the wisest in the Land of Khem. Then he told his royal attendants, "Go, proclaim through the city of Thebes that I will pardon him for all that he has done, and reward him richly if henceforth he will serve me truly and faithfully."
Later, the thief married the princess and became a royal servant of Ramses III. THE END
