  • Hi, I'm Laura, Professor of Science. I will tell you about cells and their functions
  • The cell is a structure consisting of three basic elements: plasma membrane, cytoplasm and genetic material (DNA). Cells have the ability to perform all three vital functions: nutrition, relationship and reproduction (see t13)
  • The shape of the cells is basically determined by their funcion..The size of the cells is also extremelly variable.

  • now we are going to see a cell from the microscope
  • this cell is eucariota,these cells have three distinct parts:the membrane,which surrounds it;the cytoplasm,which fills a large part pf the cell and where organelles work, and the nucleus where the genetic information of the cell is found.
  • One of the most important characteristics of the cell is its two types: Unicellular cells: Its body is constituted by a single cell, which performs all the functions of a living being
