Muhammad was born in Makkah, in about 570 C.E. Before Muhammad was born, his father had passed away.
We should all worship one God!
Why should we? We do not want to.
Around the age of 25 I had married a woman named Kadijah. We had several children even though only one of our daughter's married.
Thank you all!
We shall join you!
In about 610 C.E., Muhammad went to pray in a cave. He was visited by the angel Gabriel, who had told him the word "recite" again and again. Soon Muhammad woke up quaking with fear and rushed back to his wife. But Gabriel spoke to him again saying "You are the messenger of God."
Around 613 C.E., Muhammad had begun to preach to the Makkans. He taught that people must worship one God, that all believers in God were equal, and that the rich should share the wealth. Muhammad urged Makkans to take care of orphans and the poor, and improve the status of women. But Makkans had rejected him.
People from other clans and social classes joined Muhammad. As the Muslim population started growing bigger, the powerful clans of Makkah started a boycott to make Muhammad's followers give up Islam. They Hashim clan had suffered because the Makkans refused to business with them. The boycott failed to break their will. In 619 Abu Talib and Khadijah had passed away.
In 632 Muhammad had passed away. He reminded Muslims to treat each other well and to be faithful to their community. Shortly after his return to Madinah, Muhammad had passed away.
