Cause: The Navy canceled the tests. Effect: They Couldn't run the tests.
Sigh Posts-Numbers and Stats
"In fact, in 1960 only 21 out of all 3,246 female pilots in the country had this rating"(36).
This is a good read
Mindset-Takes on Challenges
To run the tests, the Navy couldn't have canceled.
If they didn't fight for what they believed in, then they might not have gotten this far.
The writer used this number to indicate that only a few female pilots had a good rating.
Believing in themselves, they impressed everyone.
Although people didn't believe in the female pilots because they thought that they couldn't do what the mercury 7 men did, they did better than most of the men.
1.Fight for your dreams. 2.Don't let people tell you what you can or cannot do 3.Challenges 4.If at first you don't succeed try and try again 5.We are equal.
3 points are commitment, grit and being better then all the rest. 2 things I disagree with are sexism and NASA not excepting lots of great astronauts. 1 question I have is why NASA was so against the female pilots.
How did you feel when the Navy called off the testing?
