Manuel had just kicked threw the fresh-fallen leaves. When he had gotten to school he had just realized he had forgotten his math workbook. That means he would have to stay after school and miss the talent show practice. But fortunately they did drills this morning.
Para bailar la bamba Para bailar la bamba
"How do I look?" asked Manuel. No words came out, just a hiss that sounded like a snake. Manuel tried to look emotional, flailing his arms on the high notes
The school was filled with school kids and parents. Mr. Roybal walked out of the curtains, "Good evening everyone, tonight will bring you the best of John Burroughs Elementary has to offer." Some students have already performed. Benny walked onto stage, raised his trumpet to his mouth, and waited for his cue.
It was time for Manuel's turn he was shivering, he kept on repeating 'La Bamba" over and over again in his head. Mr. Roybal welcomed Maneul to the stage. He couldn't see his mom or dad but he did see his brother. The record starting playing and it got suck, Maneul had to keep on singing "Para bailar la bamba." over and over agian. After this, next year when they ask for volunteers he wouldn't raise his hand. Probably.
