- The story starts by taking place in Krakow, Poland in Yanek's home where he lives with his family. In the 1930,s a terrible event called the Holocaust began to take over peoples lives but Yanek managed to make it through when sadly many others could not or got their lives taken.
- Climax
- Yanek was not taken to just one concentration camp, but he was taken to 13 concentration camps. This was a very hard time and contained many unknown answers about even be able to be alive the next day. But at this point, Yanek thinks he only will be at one camp.
- Falling action
- Yanek realizes that he does not know where his family has gone and he is on his own, not only is he just alone but he is alone at concentration camps and does not think he will ever see his family again.
- Resolution
- Just as Yanek thought that things could not get worse, He has been sent to even more concentration camps and starts to get super scared he may never come out of this alive and this could be the end.
- Yanek eventually sees someone from his family again at a camp he is at! Yanek and uncle Moshe reunite and see they still have hope in making it out of this disaster.
- In the end Yanek and his uncle make it out! Yanek decides it is time for a change and moves to America and also change his name.
