  • Daedalus and Icarus escape from the tower and are looking for a way off the island. (" In time, with the help of his young son, Icarus, Daedalus managed to escape from the tower, only to find that he was prisoner on the island.") LINE  2,3,4, and 5
  • Falling Action
  • This scene shows Daedalus making the wings for himself and his son's flight, while Icarus played on the beach. (" Minos may control the land and the sea, he said, but he does not control the air. I will try that way.") LINES 11 and 12
  • Resolution
  • This scene shows Daedalus and Icarus flying but Icarus flew to close to the sun softened wax melted and he started falling. (" But the enchanted boy did not notice them until the sun became so hot that the largest of the feathers dropped off and he began to sink.") LINES 73,74, and 75
  • Theme
  •  This scene shows Daedalus mourning over, Icarus, his son's death. (" Weeping bitterly, he buried his small son and called the land Icaria in his memory.") LINES 86 and 87
  • This scene shows Daedalus placing the wings in a temple he built, one he got off the island. He put them there as a gift to the gods.  ("He arrived safely in Sicily , where he built a temple to Apollo and hung up his wings as an offering to the God, and in the wings he pressed a few bright feathers that he found where Icarus fell.") LINES 90,91,92, and 93
  • The theme of this story “ But the enchanted boy did not notice them until the sun became so hot that the largest feathers had dropped and he began to sink.” LINES 73,74, and 75
