  • Women were known to focused more on house chores and looking after the children. While men are recognized to have more interest in public jobs and involved in politics.
  • Kate Sheppard is known as one of many historic people who persevered for women's to get their right to vote.
  • At last our work had finally paid off!
  • For the third attempt, Kate Sheppard and the women's suffrage community gathered around 32,000 signatures.
  • Henry Smith Fish- politician who hired people to circulate anti-suffrag petitions in pubs.
  • In the year 1893, the opponents of the women's suffrage movement were defeted, giving women the right to vote.
  • On 19 September 1893 the opponents of the female franchise were finally defeated enabling women to vote in the election.
