Have you heard that there's going to be a lunar eclipse soon!! Ever heard on Solar eclipse too?
I've heard of eclipses but what is the process of these eclipses and how do they occur?
Lunar eclipses occur sometimes when the moon orbits Earth and moves between the sun and Earth. When this happens, the moon blocks the light of the sun from reaching Earth so the sun appears to have a dark shadow on a small part of its surface.
Lunar eclipses occur when Earth's shadow blocks the sun's light. The remaining light reflects onto the full moon causing the full moon to have a red color.
Well how do eclipses affect us here on Earth?
According to this book, watching a solar eclipse with naked eyes can lead to blindness unlike lunar eclipses. During a solar eclipse your emotions might also be out of balance.
That's interesting but when should I expect to experience these eclipses?
On the average a total eclipse occurs somewhere on Earth about every 18 months.
