Jesus had heard the tragedy of what happened on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee in Tabgha, Capernaum.
Jesus then guided the crowd of five thousand people to sit down on the empty plot of grass, after that he took the five loaves of bread and two fish looked up to heaven, gave thanks and broke the bread.
There were essentially over five thousand starving men, women and children all of whom did not have any money. When Jesus docked his boat on the cold shore of Tabgha he saw them in the distance all sad, hungry and miserable, he had empathy for them and healed the sick.
As night crept up upon them, the disciples came to Jesus and said, “This is a lonely place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the village and buy some food by themselves.”
