- German forces were forced to suurender when one of the Generals demanded the surrender. If they did not surrender they would be forced to face the allies which would have ruined Germany. Germany's capital had already collapsed along with the small amount of men they had left in their army. Their economy and industry were both destroyed.
- During 1941 - 1945, the United States and the Soviet Union had an alliance in hopes to secure the defeat of Germany. There were several issues that arose throughout the war that threatened their alliance. They had many disagreements and troubles throughout the war such as opening the second front in the West. But throughout the harship, they pushed past itand helped take down Germany.
- The Manhattan Project was the development to create a functional atomic weapon during World War 2. The prject began in 1942 and with the approval of the president. Many scientists began to work on the project. The creation of the bomb was finalized and tested in a complex starting on January 1st, 1943.
- WE SURRENDER
- On August 6, 1945, the United States dropped the worlds first Atomic bomb on a Hiroshima, Japan with intentions to end WW2. Sucussfully, the bomb ended WW2. The bomb devasted Japan with much destruction and immense death. Immediatly after the bomb was dropped, over 80,000 people died instantly.
- The bombing of Nagasaki occured a few days after the bombing of Hiroshima. Early in the mroning, a plane took off with the nuclear bomb armed and ready for use. Once the bomb was dropped, it devastated the town including killing thousands of people. Many people died instantly and the bomb destructed many houses, shops, etc.
- When the United States used nuclear weapons in WW2, Japan surrendered. They surrendered due to the fact that the Soviet Union entered the war and were very powerful. They also surrendered because their plan to end the war had collasped.
