Odysseus and his men land of Circe's island where, two groups are made. From which one will go explore the island and the other will stay back with Odysseus.

When Odysseus' crew goes to explore the island, Circe gives them a drink that turned them into a pig. Where one of the men was able to escape.
"Circe gives Odysseus a magic drink, but it does not affect him and he threatens to kill her with his sword (Collection 6, 387)."

Eurylochus came running to Odysseus to tell him, about what happened to the rest of his men. Causing Odysseus to face Circe, in order to save his men.

When Odysseus rushes to save his men, he encounters Hermes who gives him a plant, that will prevent Circe's powers to work on him. Hermes also tells his that he needs to make Circe swear that she will not play any witches' tricks.
When Odysseus faces Circe, he threatens to kill her, causing Circe to turn his shipmates, back into men.
After staying there for a year, Odyssues begs to Circe to let them go. Circe tells them that they can go but, must first visit the land of the dead to hear a prophecy
