  • Meeting of estate general
  • The tennis court oath

  • The storming of the bastille
  • Time for revenge
  • Louis XVI called the estate generals to meet at Versailles. Louis had all three estates have their cahiers ready. Lots of them wanted fairer taxes, freedom of press, or regular meetings of the estates general. 
  • The march of versailles
  • There was an issue with the voting. The third estate had declared themselves the national assembly. because of this Delegates took the tennis court order and swore to "never meet wherever the circumstances might require until we have established a sound and just constitution" . 
  • The reign of terror
  • we will behead you
  • Royal troops were about to occupy the capital. 800 parisians assembled outside of Bastille. The commander of Bastille refused to open the gates and opened fire on the crowd. The mob killed the commander and 5 guards. This represented the years of monarchy abuse.
  • The rise of napoleon 
  • Im in charge now
  • About six thousand women marched in rain from Paris to Versailles. They wanted to see the king . Lots of the crowds anger was to the queen, Marie Antoinette because she lived a good and extravagance life. 
  • Went on from September 1793 to July 1794. Courts conducted hasty trials and did death sentences. Robespierre belived  that terror was necessary to achieve the goal of the revolution.
  • Napoleon was a popular military hero. The politicians used him to achieve their goals. However napoleon used their weakness and took place and ruler.
