Chapter 3 Comic Strip
Has anyone seen my wife?! Where's Slim?
I'm gonna check on Lennie!
No! Slim just left.
In this scene George and Slim have a long talk, discussing about Lennie's past and Slim notices how nice of a fella Lennie is. The way George talks to Lennie, Slim becomes aware that Lennie is so innocent like a child.
Can I join I got about $300 saved!
Sure Lennie! I guess you can join us on our mission but you can't tell no one, alright Candy.
Hey George tell the story again, please George!
Next, Carlson walks into the bunkhouse and notices a strong unpleasant smell. This smell comes from Candy's old dog whom he is very attached to. Carlson decides he wants to put the dog out of his misery and asks for permission to shoot him. After convincing him Candy decides it's for the best and the dog gets killed.
You hit em' back Lennie!
Who you laughin' at? Fight me!
HELP ME GEORGE!
Then Slim goes to the barn. Meanwhile Curley is looking for his wife and when he is told that Slim is somewhere outside, he comes to the conclusion that they might be together.
After everyone left George, Lennie, and Candy came up with a plan on how they were going to buy their own place.
At the end of chapter 3, Curley, Slim, and Carlson return to the bunkhouse and Curley tries apologizing to Slim for accusing him. When he sees Lennie smiling about a thought he immediately thinks he is being laughed at. He then starts a fight and ends up getting badly injured. Lennie was horrified, but he had to defend himself.
