  • DPN happened at Gallaudet college in Washington DC in 1988. The board of trustees chose a hearing president over 2 qualified deaf finalists for a deaf school and students were up set, this was the 7th hearing president for the school. Protesters shut down the campus and many were arrested and pt in jail.

  • Helen Keller was born June 27, 1880 in Tuscumbia, Alabama. At the age of 2 she went blind from illness. Keller was a co founder of the American civil liberties Union and many deaf people looked up to her. She was both deaf and blind. Sadly in 1968 she died in her sleep.
