  • In 1957, The Eisenhower administration passed the Civil Rights Act toincrease African American voting in the South.
  • Selma Alabama March 1965
  • This is unfair for us!!

  • The School Desegregation issue reached a crisis in 1957 in Little Rock Arkansas. The State's Governor, refused to let nine black students attend to Little Rock's central high school.
  • Voting Rights Acts 1965
  • We  finally got it!  Thank you
  • On August 28,1963,more than 250,000 blacks and whites people marched into the nation's capital.  There they demanded the immediate passage of the bill.
  • Affirmative Action 1965
  • Defend Affirmative Action, Increase minority enrollment in higher education, Fight for integration and equality!
  • Civil Rights workers attempted a voting project in Selma, Alabama. The marches were three protests marches, held on 1965, along the 54-mile highway.
  •  The Law eliminated State laws that had prevented African Americans from voting.
  • In 1965, LBJ sugared an Executive Order requiring employers with federal contracts to take positive steps to raise the number of their minority employees. Later women were added.
