Storyboard Text

  • Did you know that aliens are real?
  • No way, prove it
  • Bandwagon is a fallacy based on the assumption that the opinion of the majority is always valid: that is, everyone believes it, so you should too.
  • All of my friends say aliens exist so it must be true
  • Bandwagon
  • Well, your friends arent experts on space or aliens
  • When one makes a hasty generalization, he applies a belief to a larger population than he should based on the information that he has
  • People havent found any aliens because they already dont believe they exist and arent searching for them
  • Hasty Generalization
  • Well, Im sure some scientists are researching aliens
  • The term non sequitur refers to a conclusion that isn't aligned with previous statements or evidence.
  • Space is big. Humans havent seen all of space. Therefore, aliens are out there.
  • Non Sequitur
  • Just because space is big dosnt mean aliens are out there
  • Poisoning the well occurs when negative information that is irrelevant is presented ahead of time to discredit the argument.
  • I hope you can tell that Ive learned alot about aliens. Anyone that says aliens are fake are just liars that havent researched aliens like me.
  • People arent automatically liars because they dont believe what you do
  • Poisoning the Well
  • A claim is true simply because it has not been proven false (or false because it has not been proven true).
  • No scientist has proven that aliens arent real
  • Appeal to Ignorance
  • True, but no scientist has proven aliens to be real
