  • Why, how now, Hecate? You look angerly.
  • Have I not reason, beldams as you are...
  • Hecate is talking to the witches
  • How dare did you dare to trade and traffic with Macbeth in riddles and affairs of death, and I, the mistress of your charms, the close contriver of all harms, was never called to bear my part...?
  • Hecate wants Macbeth's destiny changed.
  • Loves for his own ends, not for you. But make amends now. Get you gone...meet me i' th' morning. Thither he will come to know his destiny.
  • It is a stormy night and the three witches enter, meeting Hecate. The witches notice that Hecate is angered at them.
  • Hecate and the witches are still talking
  • Distilled by magic sleights, shall raise such artificial sprites as by the strength of their illusion shall draw him on his confusion. He shall spurn fate, scorn death, and bear his hopes...
  • Hecate explains to the witches why she is angered.
  • Lennox and another lord enter the stage
  • Hecate explains to the witches that she is working for a disastrous and fatal end for Macbeth.
  • Lennox and the other lord are conversing
  • Hecate explains her plans on how to change Macbeth's fate and bring him down. Hecate wants to bring Macbeth to his destruction. The witches and Hecate then exit.
  • Come, lets make haste. She'll soon be back again.
  • Lennox and the other lord discuss how Macbeth is keeping Malcom from his rightful throne.
  • Lennox and the other lord are suspecting that Macbeth was responsible for the deaths of the king Duncan and Banquo.
