- I think that we should go through the terms of the compromise as well, but unlike you, I also support secession.
- Slavery grew quickly due to agriculture based economy. Had been considered a necessary evil. North wants to end slavery and the South doesn't.

- I really don't think that seceding from the union and joining the southern states was a good idea for Georgia.
- Former slave who after living in a frees state for 9 yrs, sues for freedom, courts rule blacks are not citizens, they are property.
- 4 president candidates, sectionalism. Lincoln wins, he plans to keep the Union together. South Carolina secedes.
