  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • The King and Queen of Thebes had a child, the King was told, a prophecy, that his son would kill him and marry his mother. 
  • Climax
  • OMG!?!?!? I married my own mother!?!? How did I not know??? 
  • Man Vs. Fate, Oedipus' fate was to kill his own father and marry his mother. He is against fate. 
  • Falling Action
  • Odeipus defeated the Sphinx by solving a riddle, and everyone crowned him king since their other King was recently killed. He married the  Queen of Thebes(his mother) without knowing and had four children.
  • Resolution
  • There was a plague and the way to stop it was to find out who killed the last King. While looking for the past King, Odepius found out about the prophecy and that he had killed his father and married his own mother.  He took his eyes out after finding that his mother/ wife had killed herself. 
  • Oedipus banished himself and left the city. He didn't know what to do, he was confused. 
  • Oedipus roams the world blind and poor with nothing else for him, except his children.
