- Marie Curie was born November 7,1867 in Warsaw,Poland. Marie was a great student who won many prizes . Marie had an ideal for polish independence from Russia. Russia was ruling over Poland and Marie wanted to teach other Polish Women who had no education.
- Marie Curie had an interest for Chemistry and Biology. Studying was limited in Poland, so Marie decided to go to Paris. She was able to study at Sorbonne, Paris. Marie got a degree in Physics then she got a degree in Math. Marie went on to study radioactivity and found two new elements in 1898. Marie found out that radium can burn away diseased cells. This led to radio therapy then was called Curie therapy.
- Marie Curie is best known for discovering radium. She is the only woman to have won two Nobel prizes. Marie Curie had a big influence on women and science.
