Storyboard Text

  • This storyboard is about the Mexicano's and how they were affected during the Westward Expansion and when settlers came to the land.
  • This is where the Mexicano's lived!
  • Back in the day, you couldn't just go to the store to buy food. Back then, you had to make and grow everything by yourself. It was really hard work.
  • The Mexicano's grew all their own crops.
  • Like I said in the previous slide, the Mexicano's had to grow all their food. Think of how hard it was to grow ALL their crops again!
  • Then the settlers burned their crops AND their houses!!!!!
  • The settlers burned the Mexicano's houses and crops because the didn't think the Mexicano's needed to be respected even though the settlers were in THEIR land!
  • Now, my question is, was this avoidable? Did it HAVE to happen?
  • Then, the Mexicans and the Americans went to war for their land. The war started in 1846 and ended in 1848.
  • The Mexicano's were forced out of their land by the white settlers.
