Horizon A : Topsoil
Horizon A is made up of organic matter (this included decayed roots and dead animals). This layer is also called topsoil and is the most fertile soil.
Horizon B : Subsoil
Horizon B is also called Subsoil. It is mostly made of clay, iron minerals as well as organic matter, which has been washed down by rainwater.
Horizon C : Parent Rock
Horizon C is the last horizon. It is made out of weathered rock fragments. It also consists of large rock and is also called Parent Rock.
