Storyboard Text

  • Baby Anusha: My stomach hurts!Mother (off to side into phone): She's in pain and she's way too tired. She's only 12, she's not supposed to be exhausted in the morning! Should we bring her into the ER??
  • But what about those kids? How are they? What are they doing?
  • Doctor: I'm sorry sweetheart. We're not entirely sure what's going on with you, so we're going to have to hold you overnight. Based on your symptoms, something is definitely wrong, but don't worry, we'll take good care of you.
  • What do you want to be when you grow up?
  • I got it!!
  • Baby Anusha (thinking): Where's all that noise coming from? Wait there are other kids here?? ... why are there so many? How come that kid is bald? ... Are they all sick like me? Why?? Who's helping all these kids?
  • Hey, could you submit these bloodwork orders for me? They're for Anusha.
  • Sure, no problem!
  • Baby Anusha (thinking): Algebra isn't bad at all. At least it distracts me from my pain. I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone. But what about those other kids there? Were they in as much pain as I am? But why? Are they home now too? Who is helping them with their pain? They were so much younger than me too. I wish I could have helped...
  • Baby Anusha (thinking): I'm feeling so much better now. I hope those kids are too... I want to learn how to help them one day. Wait, that's like a doctor right? Yeah, I think I want to be a doctor when I grow up. One for kids. A pediatrician?? Yeah that's the word.
  • Doctor (thinking): Her symptoms are so strange. I thought she might have some kind of viral infection, but none of her lab work indicates that. We're going to have to run more tests because I'm afraid her symptoms could be due to Crohn's Disease. No, that can't be true. She's much too young...
