  • The narrator is introduced and tries to convince you he's not mad even though he killed an old man because he didn't like his eye. 
  • Rising Action/mini-climax
  • Narrator lives in same building as the man with the vulture eye, and the narrator doesn't like the eye, he starts having urges to kill the vulture eye.
  • Rising Action
  • Every night, the narrator goes into the old mans room and shines a light from his lantern on the vulture eye, but it's never open. The narrator brags about how quiet he is and that the old man will never see it coming.
  • Climax
  • The narrator finally kills the old man and is exhilarated about it, he acts like everything is OK.
  • Cops show up the next day but the narrator isn't worried at all, he invites them in as they tell him that there were reports of screaming last night. They Stay for a long while and talk/eat/drink.
  • Narrator finally breaks and admits that he killed the old man and tells them where he is. He claimes that he was hearing the thump thump thump of the dead mans heart and that the police men already knew what the narrator had done, he basically goes crazy.
