Storyboard Text

  • In the last period of the day, math class, the teacher began to teach
  • Ok students, today we will be learning about different equations and how to find their inverses in Algebra
  • First, exponential functions.
  • y=2x-3+4 X=2y-3+4 x-4=2y-3 y=log2x-4+3
  • In the case of exponential functions, the inverse will always be logarithmic with an all real numbers range. Solve the steps as usual, switch x and y, and then solve for y.
  • Next, logarithmic functions.
  • y=log3x-6+2 X=log3y-6+2 x-2=log3y-6 y=3x-2+6
  • In the case of logarithmic equations, the inverse will always be an exponential equation, with the inverse having an all real numbers domain. Solve for y like the last equation.
  • Lastly, cubic equations.
  • Lastly, the inverse of a cubic function will always be the cube root, and have a domain and range of all real numbers. Like the last two equations, switch the x and y values and solve for y.
  • y=2(x-6)3-4 x=2(y-6)3-4 x+4=2(y-6)3 (X+4)/2=(y-6)3 y=3√(x+4/2)+6
  • Inverses are important!
  • Inverses are important and used in everyday life! It is useful to know the inverse of a function, because it has the ability to undo some physical process in order to find the input of said process.

  • Bye!
  • Byeeee
  • Yay! Schools out! No more math!
