Storyboard Text

  • Long ago, there lived a widow named Rosa, together with her young son named Bagas, in a well kept nipa hut far away from a rather vast mountainous village.
  • Rosa, with all her love and affection, took good care of Bagas as he grew up. She fed him with the best food she could afford. Despite of the goodness Rosa gave to his son, Bagas grew apathetic to her.
  • No, I don't want to. Can't you see I'm playing.
  • Bagas, please help me wash the dishes. I'm sick
  • One day, Rosa summoned his son and said:
  • Son, soon I will be gone. There is some little grain of gold I hid in he corner. When I die, bring it to the chieftain in exchange of silver and gold, so you could live in abundance.
  • After burying his mother, Bagas followed her advice. He took the grain of gold, placed it in a pot of water, and soaked it. Bagas started his journey to the village court, which was mountains and valleys away from home. Halfway to his destination, Bagas already ran out of food, water and money. Tired and sleepy, he stayed overnight in stranger's houses.
  • Finally Bagas, reached the chieftain's village courtyard. A \t the entrance, however, a miracle happened. Some golden rose from the pot. Bagas decided not to see the chieftain. He left and went to a nearby house and requested that he be allowed to cook the golden grains.
  • He harvested the grains, pounded them and cooked the white grains that came out. Bagas tasted them and they were quite buttery. He invited the people in the house and they feasted on the food he cooked. He then decided not to proceed to see the chieftain. He distributed the grains to the people. Eventually, the grains now called rice.
