A very smart 11 year old, Melody, has cerebral palsy so she is in a wheelchair. She is also not able to talk. This makes it difficult for her to make friend and do things that 11 year olds would normally do.
When Melody gets a chance to interact with kids at school she is filled with worry. When she attends school for the first time not all the students or the staff treat her like a "normal" kid.
OH NO!!! this is all my fault.
When Melody joins the quiz team at school everyone doubts her because she has a disability. But when she become the best on the whole team she proves everyone that doubted her wrong.
When Melody's math team was traveling to the nationals their flight was canceled due to the weather. The rest of her team ended up leaving on an earlier flight without telling Melody or her mom.
When Melody was about to go to school she saw her mom back into Penny. She tried to tell her to watch out but she couldn't because of her disability. When Penny was hit Melody thought its was her fault that she couldn't warn her mom and she hoped that Penny won't end up like her.
When Melody got back into school the other students apologized for what they did and gave Melody a 9th place trophy but she was not satisfied with it. So she breaks it and left the classroom with all the students' heads turned.
