  • The crowd begins to arrive, all families gather in the center.
  • Falling Action 
  • The villagers of a small town gather together in the square on June 27, a beauitful day for the town lottery. Tessie Hutchinson rushes in the blustering about being late and joins her family. People soon start drawing from the boxes.
  •  Resolution
  • Tessie is selected in the lottery "Tessie," Mr. Summers said. There was a pause, and then Mr. Summers looked at Bill Hutchinson, and  Bill unfolded the paper and it was blank.
  •  Literary Term- Irony
  • Tessie Hutchinson and her family  are being stoned to death
  • Kill my mother instead of me!
  •  "The Lottery" is the danger of transition of the lottery. The people of the village only do the lottery once every summer. because it is all they have ever done.
  • Usually when people win the lottery they earn a lot of money and they are very excited. In this lottery people are very nervous and trying not to win or they will get stoned to death.
