Odysseus suggested to make a wooden horse for the best warriors to go inside and say it was a gift to the gods. Then, filled the wooden horse with the best 23 warriors and Odysseus to go inside. After that, burn their camp and put the rest of the warriors on ships and fake leaving. Then while at sea, wait for a signal
Once the wooden horse was built, the rest of the warriors got on ships and sailed out to sea. Once out of view they waited. They waited anxiously for the signal. Waiting to know if the plan worked.
Once all the Greeks were gone, the Trojans wandered on to the beach out of curiosity. They were very surprised to see that the camp was burned, the ships were gone, and all that was left was a giant wooden horses on the battlefield.

Some of the Trojans thought it was a threat. The Trojans argued but they ended rolling the horse into the town for the night then closing the gates. For the first time in ten years the Trojans slept peacefully without the thought of the Greeks attacking.
Once all the fires were out and every one was sleeping, the Greeks quickly and quietly slipped out of the wooden horse and ran to the gate. Others went to go send a signal to the warriors on ship saying that they are in the city and ready to let the others in.
The Greeks stormed into the town. They looted all the treasure they could find. They killed men and boys, and took the women and children as slaves.
