This event happened or occurred back on October the 25th, 1774
My name is Penelope Baker and I was the president/organizer of the event called the Edenton Tea Party
This event took place in Edenton, North Carolina and all the participants were women
Boycotting British tea
Penelope and the other 50 women that participated signed a letter to King George III that they no longer be drinking tea or wearing British clothing. By taking this action it showed their patriotism.
They supported the cause against “no taxation without representation”
The Edenton women were published into a political cartoon in London. This happened in the month of March 1775
“The women of Edenton represented American frustrations with England monarchical rule and the need for American separation and independence.”
